Objective:

The class members will understand how to identify their personal dreams and goals for their lives.

Supporting Ideas:

  1. Show how each student may determine his or her personal dreams.
  2. Show students how to set goals to obtain their personal dreams.
  3. Discuss with students possible consequences of not identifying their dreams and setting goals to obtain them.
  4. Discuss possible obstacles that can prevent students from obtaining their goals.
  5. Show students possible ways to overcome or bypass potential obstacles.
  6. Show how determination and desire in combination with a feasible plan can give them the freedom and the empowerment to accomplish their goals.

Health Standard:

  • Standard 3: Students will understand the benefits of practicing health-enhancing behaviors, which reduce health risks.
    • Indicator 2: Students will evaluate processes and strategies for achieving and maintaining personal health goals.
      • Benchmark A: Explore personal health and well being on a regular basis.
